Treatment Options:

  • Iron supplements: 

Prescribed by a healthcare provider, typically taken orally or can be given by intramuscular or intravenous route

  • Dietary changes: 

Consuming iron-rich foods such as red meat, poultry, fish, beans, lentils, spinach, and fortified cereals.

  • Vitamin C consumption: 

Enhances iron absorption when consumed alongside iron-rich foods or supplements.

  • Intravenous (IV) iron therapy: 

In severe cases or when oral supplements are not effective, iron may be administered intravenously.

  • Blood transfusion: 

Reserved for critical cases with significant blood loss or severe anaemia.
